Company History and Expertise

Established in 1974, with operations commencing in 1979, Cakasa has grown alongside Nigeria's oil and gas industry. The company has developed expertise in constructing various types of tanks, including crude, product, cryogenic, and gas tanks, as well as gas spheres and mounded bullets. Its services extend to heavy-duty piping for crude and swamp pipelines, terminal construction for storage and offloading of crude, and processing facilities for both crude oil and gas.

In the gas infrastructure sector, Cakasa has established a strong presence, particularly in Nigeria. The company has completed numerous significant projects (over 30) that showcase its expertise in LPG storage solutions. Notable among these are the Stockgap Port Harcourt project, which involved the construction of four 8,180m³ capacity sphere tanks for butane and propane storage, and the RainOil project in Lagos, featuring 16,300m³ LPG spherical tanks. Other major projects include the 10,000m³ LPG spherical tank for Dozzy in Calabar, 16,300m³ LPG spherical tanks for TechnoOil in Lagos, and a future 10,000m³ LPG sphere tank for Falcon Corporation (90% complete as of today).

Cakasa's portfolio also demonstrates its versatility in handling various tank sizes and configurations. The company has successfully delivered projects ranging from large spherical tanks to smaller bullet tanks, such as the 2 x 630m³ bullet tanks for Stockgap in Port Harcourt and the 3 x 930m³ bullet tanks in Ikenne, Ogun State. This diverse project experience underscores Cakasa's ability to meet the varied needs of Nigeria's expanding gas sector.

Supply-Chain Expansion

As West Africa's energy landscape evolves, with a growing emphasis on natural gas, Cakasa is adapting its strategy to meet the increasing demand for gas infrastructure. The company's recent projects, such as the AYM Shafa 10,000m³ LPG tanks in Warri and the 2,200m³ bullet tank project for Stockgap in Abuja, reflect the ongoing expansion of LPG storage capacity across Nigeria.

Cakasa is responding to the shift towards cleaner energy sources by focusing on developing LPG and CNG infrastructure solutions. The company is working on innovative projects such as gas reticulation systems for residential estates and implementing CNG mother and daughter station projects to support the government's push for increased CNG adoption in the transportation sector.

Looking ahead, Cakasa aims to leverage its extensive experience in tank construction and gas infrastructure to expand its reach across the ECOWAS sub-region. The company sees potential in offering localized solutions that could be more cost-effective compared to international competitors. As Africa continues its energy transition, Cakasa is well-positioned to play a significant role in developing the necessary infrastructure to support the continent's gas ambitions, drawing on its proven track record of delivering large-scale LPG storage solutions across Nigeria.
